Espaço Alkantara, in Lisbon, is looking for 8 artists who create projects in the field of theatre, dance and performance, to be part of Common LAB 2023: an 8-week itinerant laboratory in which collective and individual practices will be experimented to the sharing of knowledge, development of artistic research and expansion of European narratives.
Common LAB 2023 is part of Common stories, a project that brings together performing arts organisations, artists and audiences to address dynamic notions of identity and diversity in a changing European society.
Between 2023 and 2025, the Common stories project, through different actions, will promote new artistic practices and content, in order to create a professional context that is more open and available to welcome and listen to a greater variety of voices and perspectives.
Common stories is a project developed by Maison de la Culture de Seine-Saint-Denis, MC93, Bobigny (FR), Teatro Nacional Wallonie-Bruxelles, Brussels (BEL), Alkantara and Culturgest, Lisbon (PT), africologneFestival, Cologne (GER), Riksteatern, Stockholm (SWE), in partnership with TR Warszawa, Warsaw (PL), Orient Productions – DCAF Festival, Cairo (EG), CulturArte, Maputo (MOZ), Les Récréâtrales, Ouagadougou (BF), co-funded by the Creative Europe programme.
