Today, it was announced that Jeff Koons will launch an NFT project in a way that truly embodies the cryptographic spirit: his work literally goes to the moon. Koons made a series of corresponding sculptures (NFTs) that will land on the moon. While many works of art have been sent into space, this is the first one approved to land on the surface of the moon. The intention is for the sculptures to remain there forever. Ukraine will launch an NFT museum “to preserve the state and history of Ukraine,” said Alex Bornyakov, the country’s deputy minister for Digital Transformation. Bornyakov revealed plans for the site, titled “Meta History: Museum of War,” on Twitter. The website also includes a “warline”, a timeline of events, each accompanied by a corresponding NFT. Each of the NFTs features a tweet about a significant moment from the war, along with an illustration by various Ukrainian artists.

A 1960s portrait of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol will be sold at Christie's in May. Shot Sage Blue Marilyn (1964) is expected to sell for around $200 million. If it meets expectations, the sale could nearly double Warhol's current record of $105.4 million, set when his 1963 Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster) was sold at Sotheby's in 2013.

This month, Marina Abramović will re-enact one of his most famous performances, The Artist is in Present, for an auction to benefit Ukraine. Currently up for auction on the Artsy platform is the possibility of being photographed alongside Abramović at the Sean Kelly gallery in New York, where works by the artist are currently on display.
