Desmond Rayner (1928-2014), was an English artist. He studied technical drawing, drama and commercial art at St Martin's School of Art. Rayner worked in theater until 1957, when he entered the world of advertising, finally giving him the possibility to concentrate on his own painting. In 1985, his solo show at the Wylma Wayne was part of the Americana Arts Festival, Rayner was the only British painter invited to participate. Another major exhibition was held in 1992 in London. Rayner pays great attention to detail and the importance of color in his paintings of abstract and geometric features.
