Susana Cereja (Mafra, 1992) studied architecture from 2011 to 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal, and for a short period in Germany. While studying Architecture, at the same time, she studied Illustration and Drawing at the Faculty of Fine Arts, also in Lisbon, and began working as an architect in the studio of the renowned Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos, where he worked for five years. Furthermore, he studied engraving in Barcelona, Arraiolos in Lisbon and in Vila de Arraiolos; and Drawing at Ar.co - Center for Art and Visual Communication, in Lisbon. His artistic project became public in 2017 when he began sharing it on social media and his website. The project of Susana Cereja communicates through three main techniques: engraving, Arraiolos tapestry and plaster. The artist works and studies the topic of emotion because she feels that we are educated on so many other subjects besides emotions. For this reason, he likes to talk about the deepest emotions and anxieties of human beings. The theme of women is also very present in her work, once again through emotion, but also with the purpose of breaking paradigms.
