Graduated in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Santa Isabel de Hungría (Sevilla), Verónica Ruth Frías (Córdoba, 1978) uses disguise, makeup and camouflage to acquire other identities and to carry out a body of performative work that focuses on an acidic and frontal critique of gender issues. We have already seen her as Little Red Riding Hood, The Daughter of God at the Last Supper, Super Woman, a kidnapper and through all these characters and many others, Frías tells us what worries her, what makes her unworthy and what makes us question what are the roles of women in today's society, reaffirming their position in a world of men and, in their case, in the world of art. In his works we always discover a touch of irreverent humor.
He works mainly with performance and uses video and photography to record the actions he performs. For some years now, he has been using tools such as Facebook to propose collective works in which he asks for open and free participation from the public, citizens and people. His works have already been seen in individual and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.
