The Project Support Program of the Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes), to be implemented in 2024, will have 13.350 million euros, this body told the Lusa agency yesterday.
Applications for four of the program's six competitions were opened yesterday, with the respective notices published in Diário da República, worth 11.625 million euros (ME).
The four announced competitions concern the areas of Creation and Editing, with 4,015ME, Music and Opera, with 3,370ME, Visual Arts, with 2,330ME, and Programming, with 1,910ME, which totals 11,625ME.
Today, competitions should open for the Internationalization and Simplified Procedure areas. According to DGArtes, the program's global allocation will be 13.350 million euros (ME), 44% more than the previous cycle.
The previous allocation of the Project Support Program, whose competitions were announced in December 2022, was 9.25ME for the different areas, namely Visual Arts, Creation - covering performing arts, disciplinary crossover and street arts -, Programming, Internationalization and Simplified Procedure.
DGArtes' Annual Declaration provided for the opening, by the end of this month, of competitions for the Project Support Program to be implemented in 2024.
The financial amount of each of the announced competitions was fixed by order of the Minister of Culture, Pedro Adão e Silva, on the 20th of October, and the DGArtes notices published today were signed by the general director, Américo Rodrigues, on the last day 23.
