Artistic Path of Edgar Plans
In your own words, Edgar Plans describes his work in a playful way: “The truth is, if there's one thing I can be sure of in my career, it's that I was born in 1977 in Madrid. If you ask me when I started painting or why, well, that's something I can't define so easily. I can tell you how and where, using pencil and crayon on every wall within reach, outside the house in Majadahonda, on the nursery walls, and on the sidewalks.”
Edgar Planos remembers that art was always present in his house, and creativity was stimulated. His father, science fiction and fantasy author Juan Jose Plans, equipped his office with a low table and chairs for Edgar and his siblings to sit. There the boys were free to draw and paint, with the sounds of their father's typing in the background. Edgar Plans would never want to draw other people's ideas of what constituted art – i.e. still lifes or figurative sketches. I preferred drawing stories in comics and expressing narratives.
“More than choosing to paint, painting chose me,” he said. Edgar Plans in interview. At the age of fifteen, he discovered the desire to express his truths through painting and drawing and set out to explore different disciplines and techniques. This took him to the studio of the painter José María Ramos, but after two years Edgar Plans decided he needed to find his own way. After completing his training in Art History at the University of Oviedo, he began to consistently develop his collection of paintings.

Lil Heroes NFT
In his most recent venture, “Lil' Heroes,” Edgar Plans is "translating" its characteristic screen characters into digital tokens, and is reportedly attracting a great deal of interest in the NFT community. Made in collaboration with Curatible and Exile Studio, the collection features 7,777 digital tokens with over 100 unique attributes. Spread across eight phases in 2022, the artist has released exclusive merchandise, including multiple collaborations, for Lil' Heroes NFT holders. There was also an opportunity for the tokenization of the physical paintings of the plans reserved for members of the community, along with tickets to the show's premiere and one-off NFTs made to benefit charities.
