Applications are open for the next edition of JUSTLX - Feira de Arte Contemporânea de Lisboa, which this year will take place from the 25th to the 28th of May, returning to the Lisbon Congress Center, but this time installed in a larger space that will allow for more galleries, with available areas of up to 24m2. The fair is part of what is already known as the Lisbon Art Week, an intense and vibrant week with numerous cultural events taking place in the capital. The curator Óscar Garcia, current artistic director of JUSTMAD, will also take over the direction of the Portuguese counterpart this year.
In its fourth edition, JUSTLX consolidates itself as a relevant and essential event that invests in new galleries and emerging artists, also contributing to the visibility of the Portuguese artistic scene. Indeed, the various editions of JUST in Madrid and Lisbon have contributed to young Portuguese artists entering large Spanish and Portuguese collections. JUSTLX also reaffirms its strong commitment to making art accessible and bringing it closer to a new generation of collectors, thus boosting the art market.
Since the first edition in 2018, JUSTLX has been characterized by a relaxed, young and creative environment, attracting a wide range of audiences, from professionals and art lovers, personalities from Portuguese and Spanish political, cultural and social life, to which national and foreign collectors are added.
Last year, JUSTLX was visited by around 5,000 people and had a positive balance in terms of acquisitions. It had the participation of 28 exhibitors and more than 100 artists who shaped one of the most international editions, with galleries from Portugal, Spain, France, Holland, United States, Argentina and China, and also presented a special installation by the invited Portuguese artist. , Daniela Ribeiro.
JUSTLX is organized by Art Fairs, a Spanish company that promotes art fairs and cultural events, and which since 2009 has been responsible for the fairs MADRIDFOTO (International Photography Fair), JUSTMAD (International Emerging Art Fair), JUSTMADMIA (International Miami Emerging Art) and SUMMA (International Contemporary Art Fair).
The deadline for applications for the next edition ends on February 28, 2023.
