The Soares dos Reis National Museum (MNSR) will have a program of activities and events over the next four months that aims to respond to different audiences seeking, simultaneously, to discover, enjoy and rest. Highlights in this new programming cycle are the Quintas after hours, with free and extended access from 6pm to 8pm and with something always happening.
The first activity in the program marks World Children's Day with a workshop for families on June 1st. From June to September, the MNSR promotes several initiatives such as mini-courses that explore drawing, scientific illustration, conservation and restoration, as well as guided visits every Wednesday and Friday, at 11am or 3pm.
The public can also enjoy activities on Saturdays and on the last Sunday of each month there is always a workshop for families.
On July 6th, the Museum marks, for the third consecutive year, Neighbors' Day. This reunion aims to publicize the new long-term exhibition, strengthening ties in the community and the sense of belonging. This initiative has the collaboration of the neighboring Guilhermina Suggia School of Music.
The 8th of July is dedicated to D. Pedro IV, the founder of the museum, evoking the date on which he disembarked near this city and settled in the Palácio dos Carrancas, today the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis.
The summer program is completed with exclusive activities for members of the Friends of the MNSR with themed visits around the conservation and restoration of works that are currently on display and whose intervention was supported by this association.
