
dstgroup announced the opening of registration for the 5th edition of the Dstangola/Camões Literature Prize, in partnership with Camões, IP, which, this year, is intended for poetry works by Angolan authors, published in the period from 2021 to 2022 .
The Dstangola/Camões Literature Prize is an initiative that aims to distinguish, annually and alternately, books published in poetry and prose by Angolan artists, resident or not, with books published in the country or abroad, as long as they are in Portuguese. .
The cash prize worth 15,000 euros will be paid in the corresponding amount in Kwanzas (AKZ) and applications are open until the 1st of September. All those interested in participating in this edition should consult the regulation available at http://pl.angola.dstsgps.com.
The selection of the awarded work will be carried out by a reference jury composed of José Mena Abrantes (president), Amélia Dalomba and David Capelenguela, who will be responsible for the analysis, choice and justification of the winning work.
The award ceremony will be held in Luanda, at a date and time to be announced later.
The winners of previous editions of the dstangola/Camões Literature Prize were Zetho Cunha Gonçalves with "Noite Vertical" in 2019, Pepetela with "Your Excellency, de Corpo Presente" in 2020, Benjamim M'Bakassy with "Eutópsia, eutopia turned from the euverse" in 2021 and Boaventura Cardoso with "Margens e Travessias" in 2022.
Since its inception, dstgroup has been committed to promoting literary creativity and cultural development in Angola. In addition to the dstangola/Camões Literature Prize, the company has supported culture and the arts, including through the creation of the dstangola reading room at the Portuguese Cultural Center in Luanda, which received thousands of books from the dstgroup, worth more than 12,500 euros , with an increase of six thousand euros planned for each of the three subsequent years. Among the thousands of books are titles by Portuguese authors, Lusophone authors, technical books and literature, among many other genres.
