
The exhibition "Acquisitions 2021-2022. Núcleo de Arte Contemporânea da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa", will run parallel to the International Contemporary Art Fair ARCOlisboa, between Thursday and Sunday, in Cordoaria, the organization announced in a statement.
The set presented corresponds to the last two years of acquisitions and "reaffirms the will of CML to continue to constitute and develop its collection, with the perspective of, in the future, integrating other authors, and expanding the representativeness of those who compose it", he stresses. a statement from the Municipal Galleries, the entity that manages exhibition spaces in the capital.
Inês d'Orey, Isabel Carvalho, João Ferro Martins, João Pedro Vale and Nuno Alexandre Ferreira, Júlia Ventura, Luísa Cunha, Manis Pacheco, Francisco Queimadela, Mónica de Miranda, Paulo Lisboa, Pedro Vaz, Rui Chafes, Susanne Themlitz and Vasco Araújo are some of the artists represented in this exhibition.
The works were selected in that two-year period by a commission made up of curators Isabel Carlos, Miguel von Hafe Pérez, Sérgio Mah, Joana Sousa Monteiro (Lisbon Museum) and Sara Antónia Matos (Atelier-Museum Júlio Pomar).
The set is organized "by aesthetic affinities and also by relationships that seek to take into account the qualities of the space", as in the previous exhibitions held, in 2018, at Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional and, in 2021, at the Atelier-Museu Júlio Pomar.
The 6th edition of the ARCOlisboa International Contemporary Art Fair opens on Thursday for professionals and opens to the general public on Friday, closing on Sunday at 6 pm.
