As is its annual practice, Pantone has chosen the color of the year for 2024 – a color meant to give you a warm feel.
Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a pinkish-orange hue that evokes feelings of tenderness and compassion while conveying a sense of caring and community. At the same time, the color giant noted, the hue evokes poetic and romantic tones as much as it does a modern sensibility.
“Taking comfort from Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, we can find inner peace, impacting our well-being,” Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman said in a statement. “Both an idea and a feeling, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to the comforting presence of touch and enveloping warmth.”
The company's Color of the Year, as always, was selected by experts at the Pantone Color Institute, who analyzed trends in the art, design, entertainment, fashion, technology, sports and travel spaces.
“Anything and everything that happens in our culture throughout the year can influence our Pantone Color of the Year selections,” said Laurie Pressman, vice president of the institute, in a blog post, “with each source having a different yearly weight. to year, depending on what is happening in our culture at that moment.”
Global mood and conversation, she added, plays a key role in the institute's selection: “We discuss our color psychology and color trend research as we seek to connect the mood of the global zeitgeist with the corresponding color family.”
Peach Fuzz is Pantone's 25th Color of the Year and follows shades like 2023's Viva Magenta – a bold red meant to echo the limitless self-expression of the virtual world – and 2022's Very Peri – a juicy lilac that conveys confidence and curiosity.
