This Saturday, March 4, Pinacoteca de São Paulo inaugurated a new building: Pina Contemporânea, which will now display the institution's contemporary art collection. The new building is located in the center of São Paulo, just 80 meters from the main museum and, with the addition, the Pinacoteca de São Paulo complex becomes the second largest museum in Latin America, second only to the Museu Nacional de Antropologia do Mexico. As part of the commemorations of the 480th anniversary of the arrival of the Portuguese in Japan, a work by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils was unveiled in the new premises of the Embassy of Portugal in Japan with the presence of the Ambassador of Portugal in Japan, Vítor Sereno, the Portuguese artist, Alexandre Farto, and the President of Cunha Vaz & Associados, António Cunha Vaz.

The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam has reclassified Kazimir Malevich as a Ukrainian. Malevich is usually described as Russian. A spokesperson for the Stedelijk Museum says that "now we communicate [about Malevich]: born in Ukraine of parents of Polish origin". Learn more here.
