The Castelo Branco Contemporary Culture Center (CCCCB) will have an exhibition of works from the State Contemporary Art Collection (CACE) open to the public, between June 17th and September 3rd.
The “NON FINITO” exhibition, curated by Fernando J. Ribeiro, Pedro Portugal and Beatriz Hilário, brings together a set of pieces from its collection, as well as acquisitions recently integrated into CACE.
In a note published on its website, the municipality of Castelo Branco explained that this exhibition “proposes an approach to CACE, making known a representative and plural set of contemporary artistic practices, through the activation of new discourses and readings that emerge and accompany the construction of this collection”.
“NON FINITO” brings together works by around fifty Portuguese and foreign artists, such as Paula Rego, Adriana Proganó, Alice dos Reis, Carlos Noronha Feio, Valter Vinagre, Diogo Evangelista, Eugénia Mussa, Jimmie Durham, Allan Sekula, among others. This exhibition is part of CACE's exhibition program, which presents multiple selections of works and displays from the collection in different cultural spaces across the country, with the aim of reaching different audiences, geographies and contexts.
“NON FINITO” is the result of a partnership established between the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage and the municipality of Castelo Branco, and has the joint organization and collaboration of CCCCB and CACE.
